Hello all,
Here's a wish I received from Ty Bennett and I wanted
to share with you...
I sincerely wish you will have the experience of
thinking up a new idea, planning it, organizing it,
and following it to completion, and then having
it be magnificently successful. I also hope you'll
go through the same process and have something
"bomb-out."
I wish you could know how it feels "to run" with
all your heart and lose - horribly.
I wish that you could achieve some great good
for mankind, but have nobody know about it
except for you.
I wish you could find something so worthwhile
that you deem it worthy of investing your life.
I hope you become frustrated and challenged
enough to begin to push back the very barriers
of your own personal limitations.
I hope you make a stupid, unethical mistake
and get caughtredhanded and are big enough
to say those magic words "I was wrong."
I hope you give so much of yourself that
some days you wonder if it's worth it all.
I wish for you a magnificent obsession that
will give you reason for living and purpose
and direction and elan and life.
I wish for you the worst kind of criticism
for everything you do,because that makes you
fight to achieve beyond what you normally
would.
I wish for you the experience of leadership.
Isn't it good?
Note that I'll be away from my blog for a while.
I want to serve you in a better way so I'll
be back later with more tools to help you being
a real authentic leader!
May you be a light for yourself and others !

A wish for leaders
February 24, 2010
Why leaders lose their way?
What cause the failure? Why do people with excellent potential get derailed? Can they recover and still become authentic leaders or are they condemned?
"Before people take on leadership roles, they should first ask themselves two fundamental questions: What motivates me to lead? and What is the purpose of my leadership? If honest answers to the first question are simply power, prestige, and money, leaders risk being trapped by external gratification as the source of their fulfillment. There is nothing wrong with desiring these outward symbols as long as they are combined with deeper desire to serve something greater than oneself " say Bill George in his book, True North.
I totally agree with his reflection. At some point, leaders who focus on external gratification instead of inner satisfaction lose touch with reality. Often, this "disconnection" becomes a threat for their organization and turn out to be a major and unexpected failure form themselves.
In observing leaders who derailed, Bill George and his team identified five types of leaders who are more susceptible to lose sight of their True North:
- Imposters, who lack self-awareness and self-esteem
- Rationalizers, who deviate from their values
- Glory seekers, who are motivated by seeking the world’s acclaim
- Loners, who fail to build personal support structures
- Shooting Stars, who lack the grounding of an integrated life
Can you see yourself in any of these archetypes? Be honest with yourself.
So why leaders lose their way? Because they lead without purpose or/and they get distracted by success.
Donald Trump said in his book, Never give up, when he related the major financial challenge he had to face in 1991: It became clear to me that part of what got me into this situation was that I had lost my perspective and started to believe the news stories about me having “the Midas touch” he it came to business. On other words, I had become complacent. My momentum wasn’t where it should have been.
Once you know that your desire of leading has strong roots, what can you do to stay focus?
More and more leaders do not hesitate to declare that they meditate every day. Donald Trump doesn’t do business lunch and take short vacation. It’s his way to keep is momentum.
Personally, I walk in the mountain almost every day. I also meditate every day.
There are two programs I enjoy particularly and remained to bring tremendous results to my coaching clients:
- The brain-based meditation program of Centerpointe. www.centerpointe.com
- The core energy meditation of Kevin Schoeninger’s call Raise your vibration www.mindbodytrainingcompagny.com.
This month, I invite you to find what works for you.
And please remember…
If you fall, fail or derail, just breath. See what you can learn from the experience and move on! The only condemnation is to give up!

Make 2010 an extra ordinary year !
We need to learn to set our course by the stars, not by the lights of every passing ships.
First step: set your goals
January is the perfect time to give clear direction to your mind by setting inspiring goals that you really want to achieve the year to come.
I know I'm not very original here but without specific goals, you would be likely to focus on your weaknesses and problems, as this is default mode for the brain. See the importance now ?
So, be honest with yourself and see what is really worth going for your life. What truly inspire you. Not what you think you should do or be to please others. What do you want to achieve for you.
Otherwise, there's big chances that your goals further your struggles, increase your stress or make you harder on yourselves instead of support you.
When this done, ask yourself : WHY is it so important for me to achieve this goal ?
This step is crucial to your success.
The WHY is your garantee to make it through when bad days come. You know, the one you convince yourself that finally it's not so important to achieve those goals, they won't make you happier anyway and you don't need more.
A big why will keep your internal and external saboteur powerless and help you stay focus.
Last thing I want to bring to your attention is this. Ask yourself how achieving each goal you've set will make you feel. This will bring to light your true motivation.
Example...
Let's say that I want to earn over $5000 a month because it makes me feel secure. So what I really want is to feel secure. Knowing that, I open my mind to much more possibilities to feel secure than if I just focus on making a certain amount of money each month. It expands my vision and rise up my awareness.
So if it's not done yet, please take time to set your goals !
You want to be the unique captain of your soul, so take full responsibility for the direction of your ship !

Are you an authentic leader ?
Warm welcome to The path of authentic leader !
Do you think you can lead others if you cannot lead your own life?
Hum, interesting... Of course you can! But let me tell you, you won’t create a Fortune 500 on that!
Not interested in Fortune 500? Let me ask you this: Do you think you’ll be able to create a strong and performing team in your organization if inside you it’s a mess? Do you think you’ll attract the best resources on the market if you are a control freak who fears others? No. You’ll unconsciously choose people you can dominate. Do you think it’s the way to allow your business to be competitive in the market today? No, but, you will probably say it’s not your fault; the economy is so bad…
My years in organizations have enriched tremendously my experience and observation of leaders. I had the chance to meet the great ones who made me feel I could achieve anything and, I did. I also had the chance to experience the king of manipulation types. You know, the ones so understanding you can tell them anything… until the day they use the information you gave them against you. Finally, I met the miserable ones who intimidate others. Thanks to Y generation, they slowly but surely get pushed away! X generations were too polite…
It became a real passion for me to understand what’s behind the great ones, the authentic leaders. What are they made of? I discovered that they share common rules of life.
Here they are.
An authentic leader…
- Has enough life experience to understand the damage caused by betrayal, the illusion of fear, the pain caused by lies and has chosen another path
- With courage, went deep down inside himself to face his strengths, his weaknesses and learned how to dance with his own shadow so he can be the only master of his life, the captain of his soul
- Bases his decision on his inspiration and instinct, not on what he fears or might perceive through the unsupportive filter of his conditioned mind
- Has a clear vision of what he wants to manifest and focuses on it 100%
- Doesn’t react to life. He acts in spite of anything
- Knows deep down inside that no matter what, he can face any challenge and turn it into a big opportunity
Through months, I’ll share with you powerful brain tips to help you stretch your life and business leadership. I’ll be very happy to read your challenges, success and thoughts about it.
To your empowerment,
For a better world, one leader at the time!
